The Library

This is a place for us to upload documents containing snippets of our own writing.  Simply add a page under this one with your piece, as I’ve done with the Clockwatcher.  To protect your document, use the “Visibility” button on the top right of the “Add New Page” page and set it to “Password Protected”, and enter the Site Password – that way only site members can see it.  It’s a bit clunky, but it works.  If you’re not concerned about who sees your document, just leave “Visibility” set to “Public” – its default setting.

Uploading to the library is a little tricky.  In fact, if you want, just email me (Sarah) the document, and I can upload it for you!  If you fancy having a bash, here’s how you do it:

Once you’re logged in, click on “My Dashboard” in the top left of the page, and click on “Pages” in the left menu.  Then, click “Add New”.  You’re now in “Edit Page”.  Change the name to the name of the piece you’re uploading.  Then, in the menu bar above, find the little star-like icon in the “Upload / Insert” row – it’s the fourth one in.  Click on that.

A little window will open.  You’ll then have a page where you can “Upload a file from my computer”; do so, and upload your piece.  Then, once that’s done, in the same screen BE SURE to click on the “Link to URL” button at the bottom.  Then save your changes.

Once back in the “Edit Page”, look at the “Attributes” section in the right hand column.  See the dropdown “Parent”; it usually says “Main Page (no parent)”.  Change this to read “The Library”.

Then, click the “Update Page” button in the top right.  Once that’s done, you can go to the homepage and you should see your new piece in its own page in “The Library” (bottom left of the page).

Good luck!
